Angry John is back with another rant.  This time, he’s railing against the LOLCatz craze.  And perhaps, that’s dying out now, too.  Either way, John has a few things to say about it.

So many things going on right now: a move to Germany, a retirement from military service and much more, that have held me back from fully embracing production on the CabCand storyline and more.  I’ve also been having some issues with a dental crown (not on my dashboard, mind you).

It’s my fault for reading Us Weekly magazine alongside my wife in the car. 

Apparently, Kendra Wilkinson had a very difficult time living in the Playboy mansion with an 80-something sugar daddy, two other women, and almost everything at her beckon call.  So tough, she talked about offing herself and a few other things that generate publicity enough to get her solo career rolling.  You get the point.

So, John had something to say about the article as well.  And that led to the first “Angry John Rant” of BVA.  Another B&W edition.  And yes, I still owe you another chapter of Cablinasian Candidate, in color.  I am, however, once agains flummoxed by my own workflow and am seeking advice.  The B&W stuff is a tad easier to do (though I did this in PhotoShop and it’s pixelated a bit). 

Where did adding George Lynch come in, you ask?  I have no idea.  I mean, I love me some George Lynch music.  However, he’s more random consequence than purposeful need.  Plus, who better than a rock star to elaborate on hot chicks (though Geo is very much a family man now, I understand.

In the latest Ball-Point Edition, you finally get some insight as to what the boys do for a living — at least John, Bryan and Mason.  They’re on-air personalities.  And their boss is named Hal Blank.  Here’s the introduction to Hal in BPE #2. 

Friday welcomes back the full-color edition as well as the return of the Cablinasian Candidate.  I think you’ll like the direction it’s going.  There’s so many stupid little ideas to get out with this plot before the inevitable “big fight.”  Should be fun.  Again, regret the delays on the color stuff.  Lots going on in my life right now.

Finally, I’ll be supplementing the BPE’s with Rants by Angry John starting sometime soon.  These will be three panel quickies.  But stuff John would bitch about if he could.  And will.

I’ve heard conversations about this from time to time, making “The Force” an official religion.  I’ve been party to or seen photos from dozens of “Star Wars” themed weddings.  Certainly, there have to be enough people oput there who’ve already institutionalized it (sans light sabers).  So, why not The Force as religion?  Scientology only received its tax break mere years ago from the government and that made it an official religion, at least in the United States (Germany will have none of it).  If a thousand Jedi lawyers and a thousand Jedi political action committee members had a thousand typewriters, they could all write one good press release to make it so (sorry, Trekkers) and this thing could take off like the Millenium Falcon out of Mos Eisley.  Or something.

In any case, the first B&W strip drawn with, yes, a ball-point pen (mostly).  The clean up was a bit rushed through PhotoShop but it’s done and on display.  More to come and certainly, I need to improve this technique.  But, hopefully the gag is funny enough to get it through.  Your thoughts welcome, as always.

These will be official BVA comics drawn almost daily to fill in between the real series.  And yes, they will be drawn with a ball-point pen.  And you’ll like them.  Really.

So, look for these starting Wednesday (I was sick today) and the full color knock out on Fridays.  Unless I get hyper busy.  And you’ll know that, too.

Wolf Blitzer will also be back with an update.  It’s not so much that you need an update.  It’s that I think sticking Wolf into a comic as my Shakespearian Chorus for this rings of something worth giggling about.  I’ve probably got to something in more Iambic Pentameter just for that reason.  But let’s not get crazy.
