Star Trek Rant

This is a quickie before I get off to Washington DC for a week.  I’m getting closer to returning to a full time operation.  Once I have my desktop back, that should do it.  Sorry for these inbetweeners.  Enjoy and comment!

BVA goes inactive as of July 1

BVA will be taking a back seat to some other projects for the foreseeable future.  This Web site will come down July 1.  No return date to speak of, although it’s still an important effort for me.  I’ll come back to this when I’ve got some of the other writing projects completed.

Thanks!

BVA in holding pattern

Due to an overseas move as a result of a job change, BVA is going to be put on hold for a time.  All of my computer gear will be packed about two months later than my actual arrival.  So, I’ll be without the means to actually create a the comic.  However, I will be pencilling the new editions and will be well ahead once I’m settled.

I appreciate everyone who follows and keeps up with the BVA guys and appreciate your patience during this move.

New color comic Wednesday

The next chapter of the Cablinasian Candidate is drawn.  Really.  And, it colored.  No kidding.

There’s just the matter of the script.

I can’t find it.

So, I’m, err, looking for it.  I had it recently and never got the words onto the panel.  So, I’m scrubbing all points today.  If I can’t find it, I’ll rewrite it.  But the original IS funny.

Sketches available on Facebook fan page

If you’re interested in how these strips start compared to how they end, visit the BVA Facebook fan page.  Here’s the link:

I’ve uploaded every sketch I’ve scanned to a gallery there.  So, about 21 or so sketches.

Finally, if you’re on Facebook and not a fan, please click the link to become a fan!  Enjoy!

Thanks Michael Nobbs!

Greetings to anyone coming in from SecretOT.com!  I’m not sure who you are, but I have a few guesses as to who helped you get here.  Enjoy and welcome!

The “Ball Point Pen” editions are coming

Publishing a comic once a week is not a way to keep the comic running.  It’s great that by Friday, you get a finished product with full color and a great story line.  However, there’s that other six days when a stop-gap is needed.

Enter the Ball-Point editions.

These will be official BVA comics drawn almost daily to fill in between the real series.  And yes, they will be drawn with a ball-point pen.  And you’ll like them.  Really.

So, look for these starting Wednesday (I was sick today) and the full color knock out on Fridays.  Unless I get hyper busy.  And you’ll know that, too.

New comics coming quickly

The good news is, as promised, the new year is breathing new life into me and my drawings.  So far, four new comics are drawn and ready; another four are sketched.  I’m fairly happy with the way the Cablinasian Candidate story is playing out.  It’s funny and fun, but also puts some fun action dynamics I’ve always wanted to play with.  If you’re enjoying the series, please let me know.

Wolf Blitzer will also be back with an update.  It’s not so much that you need an update.  It’s that I think sticking Wolf into a comic as my Shakespearian Chorus for this rings of something worth giggling about.  I’ve probably got to something in more Iambic Pentameter just for that reason.  But let’s not get crazy.

Anyway, please comment and let me know you’re reading.  I’ll talk about the shirt and gear store in another post. ;)

Down for maintenance and business

Hi everyone,

BVA will be static until the new year.  I’m switching formats from vertical to horizontal.  I’m refining my workflow and Ive got some business travel to do.  Goal is to have the next edition — the continuation of the Cablinasian Candidate — available for release Jan. 9. 2009.

Please return for the reload.  My heart is still in this.  Unfortunately, my dayplanner has not been cooperating.

Thanks!
